Time's Up...or Not?

So I know we've all heard that our beloved Vibe magazine is going out of business. =(

Well, business-man and Vibe's original founder, Quincy Jones is not pleased with this news at all. He recently spoke-out about the downfall of his iconic magazine saying,

“They just messed my magazine all up, but I’m gonna
get it back. You better believe it, I’m’a take it online because print and all
that stuff is over...”

Wooaah sounds like Mr.Jones is pissed...Nonetheless, I think the idea of an online-magazine is awesome. Everything is online now and i seriously can't imagine my life without some sort of Vibe magazine in it!!!!........oookay maybe I can. Still, I've been a fan of Vibe since forever! So hopefully this isn't the end.

Stepping it up with Sasha Fierce!

Ok, so like many, I haven't been a true fan of Tina & Beyoncé Knowles' clothing collection, "House of Dereons". However, the new Sasha Fierce concept & collection is pretty fresh. Fashion designer, and President of Dereon’s parent company, Tina, says they were going for an "edgier and trendier" look to go with the Sasha Fierce attitude. The pricing for the clothing ranges from $25-$75, similar to the original House of Dereon line. She also mentioned that they have had much success with the graphic tees...which we all know I absolutely love!!

Here is a description of the line:

"The jewelry, shoes and eye wear, she added, “are really over the top” with large chains made in mixed metals such as silver with gold, heavily studded shoes and oversize sunglasses such as the ones Beyoncé has been seen wearing on tour. The clothes are a little more subdued to make the accessories stand out —
a one-shoulder dress, black bodysuit, fake leather jacket with oversize collar, leggings and destructed jeans with mesh and lace details lining the ripped material."

Artest Joins the Champs

MyLakers officially announced the signing of the "Tru Warrior" & held their press conference 2day! He chose the 5year deal, worth 33mil. Everybody in LaLaLand is really excited about Ron joining the team...esp. due to his ability to "Hoodalize" the team (as RonRon & the media put it lol). Naw, but he will definitely improved the Lakers perimeter D. & bring along some of his needed toughness.

P.S. with the additional yr.'round L.A. scenery i feel the need to warn u of the numerous RonRon tracks, mixtapes & albums that will mos.def. drop...so brace urselves! LOL (however, Ron's matured aLot so it won't be a distraction...LET THE PAST BE THE PAST PLEEZE)

In other L.A. News, Shannon Brown chose to stay & sign a 2year deal worth 4.2mil. Shoot, he might be the most payed 3rd string p.g. in the league haha. But this contract is well deserved due to S.B.'s surprise performance during the Lakers' playoff run. Expect him & (for now) backup p.g. J.Farm to battle it out in training camp & possibly in the near future for the starting role.

Also, the Houston Rockets announced the signing of L.A. guy, Trevor Ariza. They locked him up with a 5year deal worth 33.5mil. Even though i still feel his agent screwed him over, & even though he won't be playing for another title over there in H-Town, i do think it's still a good opportunity for him. My message to Trev:

GoodLuck! Nothing but love for u...&expect loud cheers from the L.A. fans when u return to Staples to collect ur much deserved Ring! P.S. David Lee is a jerk...fire him asap! ;)

R.I.P. To An NFL Great

Early Saturday morning, former Titan and Raven Pro-bowl quarterback, Steve McNair was discovered dead from multiple gunshot wounds in Nashville, Tennessee. Also, shot & killed with him was a young lady named, Sahel Kazemi. The incident definitely seems fishy & was mos.def. an intentional homicide. It's truly a sad tragedy. When i turned to ESPNews, the furthest thing from mind was that they would be announcing his death. He is survived by his wife & 4boys.

One thing's for certain...NFL great & legendary Qb, Air McNair, will be missed greatly by not only his family but also his fans. He was a huge inspiration to young black athletes with a love for sports & football. May U Rest In Eternal Peace McNair, u will not be forgotten!

M.J.'s Last Rehearsal

This is a clip of Michael rehearsing, 1of his many hits & 1of my all-time favs, "They Don't Care About Us." He was inside Staples Center, just a few days before his death, gearing up for his: This Is It tour. Maaaaann im not gonna lie, i got alil emotional watching this. And im mos'def. not gonna lie about the fact that i was really looking forward to see him perform again.

Regardless of what u may have heard(bankruptcy problems, etc.), I know that he was doing this tour for his kids..since they were now old enuff to witness & enjoy their dad doing what he does best!! Sadly, they will not get that opportunity.

Also keep in mind that this is a rehearsal so before u go thinking that the King may have lost his step abit, know that once the big lights were on he definitely was gonna bring his all...THE KING'S LEGACY WILL LIVE ON...ENJOY =)

NBA Free Agency is underway!

Aright, here we go...so we all know that the Pistons made the first, big move by adding Ben Gordon & Charlie Villanueva. It's time to see which other teams are adamant about winning now & which teams are saving bank for the highly anticipated 2010 Free Agency.
It's always interesting to see where these players end up. I think this yr.'s list of Free Agency is pretty nice. We've already seen the under-sized, yet explosive B.Gordon & youthfully talented Charlie V. change addresses. Also on the list: Hedo Turkoglu , Shawn Marion, Ron Artest, Trevor Ariza (L.A. guy=)), Rasheed Wallace, Paul Millsap, Nate Robinson, David Lee, etc. And while most of us, fans, are going to be on NBA.com & watchin' NBA.TV daily, at the end we're just going to have to see which surprise signing will occur. Cuz c'mon, how many times are these "analysts" correct...90..75..maybe 50% right?? I mean no1 was reporting that the Pistons were going after B.Gordon AND Charlie V. (& it was the 1st deal to go down).

And also i want to address the rumor about myLakers saying 'Peace-Out' to Trevor Ariza for not accepting the mid-level 5.6mil. contract that we offered. Personally, i don't believe Lakers' Management are being that blunt. However, even though it's hard for me to admit because i do love both their games, but (right now) L.O. is more important to this Lakers team than Trev is...& if he wants to go chase the $$$ then i gotta respect it (however, if he decides to chase the cash to Cleveland then that's a whole 'notha story..lol) Hopefully, its all just a tactic for Trev & his agent to get the Lakers to open up their wallets abit...if not then the Lake show might have to look @ some of the other available SFs like Ron Artest, Shawn Marion, Grant Hill, or we can just roll with...LUUUUKKE!! lol

OK so its official!! The heavily talented Trey Songz & lyrical genius Drake are successfully taking over the world. I think everyone, their momma, & their momma's momma are partying & filling their ears with the dope mixtapes & remixes [via YouTube] that these 2 artists are putting out. And even more so, ppl. are eagerly "anticipating" ;) the release of Trey's next LP & drake's 1st official LP. They are amazing artists & to be real im 1of the fanatics because i can't get enough of 'em & their lyrical style & creativity.
